BEHIND THE LENS
Hey, I’m Ashley! An Alberta based lifestyle photographer. I believe in preserving our beautiful ordinary. I believe in everyday moments, refined. I want to hear your voice, telling your story, in each image captured. I want us to be intentional with our moments and thoughtful with our choices. Planning a session that reflects what is important to you, right now in this season.
I am a wife, mom of four, and a believer in a higher power. I am a friend to chaos and can keep up with any adventure. However, I welcome stillness when a season calls for it. I love to create magic in the ordinary. Traveling and exploring new locations brings me joy. I prioritize having new experiences! I do enjoy a plan, but love the thrill of being spontaneous.
BEHIND THE NAME
In 2020 I had been thoughtfully considering names to rebrand my photography business, when “La Vie Boheme” suddenly came to me. Having a french background myself, it seemed truly fitting. La Vie Boheme Photography became a business during a very emotional season for me. I was having a hard time with my mental health and the joys and simplicity of the bohemian lifestyle + decor made my days brighter and more joyous. “La Vie Boheme” means "The bohemian life", inspired by my love for all things bohemian. I had always envisioned a business name with a story and an emotional connection. When I ultimately decided to pursue photography, I went with something common - using my name I created Ashley Costain photography. I am so happy that I was finally inspired and was able to establish a business name that means so much to me.
MEET MY ASSOCIATE
Hi everyone! My name is India, I'm the owner of India faith photography and I work with Ashley. From a young age I knew I wanted to be an artist, I was raised among many talented people by my wonderful artist mom who has always encouraged me and kept me inspired since my very first crayon drawings and clay creations in her pottery studio. I'm a mom of two wonderful little girls, who inspire me every day and are one of the main reasons I took up photography in the first place. I originally picked up my camera as a hobby and a way that I could capture lasting memories with my kids, and since then it has become a full blown passion.

India is an amazing asset to my business. I absolutely love bringing her almong to shoots for so many reasons.
Some of those reasons include:
+ Having a second set of eyes to make sure every detail of your shoot is perfect.
+ With two photographers (and 4 cameras) we can assure you we have gotten the most amazing shots with multiple angles and various poses for you to treasure and cherish.
+ India is guaranteed to be present at every newborn shoot and this is free of charge to my clients.
