Edmonton family photographer

There’s something about a family photo session on an acreage that just hits differently — the quiet, the openness, the golden light wrapping around every moment. The Butler family brought their sweet crew to my little slice of prairie, and the evening couldn’t have been more magical.

They have three little ones — their oldest full of calm leadership, their middle with the most personality-packed expressions, and their youngest who completely stole the show with every squish and smile. This family photo session on the acreage captured the chaos, the calm, and everything in between — just the way I love it.

Acreage Sessions = Space to Be Themselves

Out here, there’s no pressure. No distractions. Just space for kids to run, parents to breathe, and for connection to unfold naturally. There was twirling, barefoot races, piggyback rides, and soft golden snuggles as the sun sank low.

The beauty of holding a family photo session on an acreage is that kids get to be kids. There’s room to explore, to laugh, to have big feelings — and still end up with the most heart-melting images.

Styled to Feel Like Them

Mama selected outfits from my client closet to bring the vision to life — cozy knits, earthy tones, and textures that looked gorgeous in the prairie light. These weren’t just “photo outfits” — they felt like home. That comfort and ease shines through in every frame.

The Golden Light We Wait For

As the sun dipped low and painted the sky with honeyed light, we stayed out just a little longer. Because when the energy is this connected, and the light this dreamy, you let the moments linger.

These are the sessions I live for — unhurried, real, and full of love.

Final Thoughts

If you're dreaming of your own family photo session on an acreage, let this be your sign. It’s relaxed, natural, and gives your family the space to just be — and those are always the moments worth remembering.
