I'M ASHLEY
Hey, I’m Ashley! An Alberta based lifestyle photographer. I believe in preserving our beautiful ordinary. I believe in everyday moments, refined. I want to hear your voice, telling your story, in each image captured. I want us to be intentional with our moments and thoughtful with our choices. Planning a session that reflects what is important to you, right now in this season.

I am a wife, mom of four, and a believer in a higher power. I am a friend to chaos and can keep up with any adventure. However, I welcome stillness when a season calls for it. I love to create magic in the ordinary. Traveling and exploring new locations brings me joy. I prioritize having new experiences! I do enjoy a plan, but love the thrill of being spontaneous.

BEHIND THE NAME

In 2020 I had been thoughtfully considering names to rebrand my photography business, when “La Vie Boheme” suddenly came to me. Having a french background myself, it seemed truly fitting. La Vie Boheme Photography became a business during a very emotional season for me. I was having a hard time with my mental health and the joys and simplicity of the bohemian lifestyle + decor made my days brighter and more joyous. “La Vie Boheme” means "The bohemian life", inspired by my love for all things bohemian. I had always envisioned a business name with a story and an emotional connection. When I ultimately decided to pursue photography, I went with something common - using my name I created Ashley Costain photography. I am so happy that I was finally inspired and was able to establish a business name that means so much to me.

I love music and movies, reading, journaling, home design, hiking/being outside, going to flea markets, and crafting.

I am addicted to coffee

My camera roll has 40K photos on it. All of my kids and screenshots of funny memes.

I talk a LOT and if anything has an awkward silence I shall fill that silence and then think “Why did I say that?” Then repeat.

I am always too "broke" to buy myself something but fill my cart with stuff for my kids like I am on a Kardashian-sized budget.
